It has been an interest for me to use typography to convey a message and to evoke certain emotions and grab attentions without the use of any form of imageries. There are many aspects of typography that i can play around with such as the typeface, color, size, negative spaces and the arrangement and layout of these texts. Typography can also be created in many forms, for example,typesetting, handwriting , graffiti. These forms can then be applied on many different mediums such as magazines, posters, signages, web page, etc.
What Is It?
The art of arranging and designing of types which is used as a means of visual communication. Typography has been used to convey messages, spread informations and as a means of mass communication ever since the invention of movable type and printing press.
Uses For Typography
Typography has been used as an approach to improve mass communication and for commercial purpose since the mid nineteenth century during the dawn of modern consumerism. It is now commonly present in posters, signages,magazines, tv commercial, packaging, apparels, book cover, album covers, logos, etc.
